You forgot Edler? lol - SMP8719
I think he meant Ed(playing like sh!t)ler...
gotta be an s in there somewhere.
This seems like some new evidence to add to the cluster that suggests that the Canucks' team-wide struggles this season are a direct result of coaching. - Carol Schram
It was pointed out to us that Matthias was playing on the 4th line in Florida and when he came to Vancouver he got the chance to play on the top 2 lines here...
I guess a lot of it is where the holes are in the lineup and how creative the coach is. Evidently, previously held opinions of players must also play a large part. |

Honestly, that Diaz for Weise trade was excellent for the Habs.
He's a very useful player on our team... even before the goal he brought something the Habs needed badly, a fast, big and defensively responsible 4th liner. |

Weise has been great for us since the trade. We needed something like him on the 4th line |

Wiese sucks... he won't do another thing for you the rest of the playoffs. Hes got great speed but thats it, his hands arent good enough to complement his speed. Hes a terrible fighter and he doesn't hit worth poop. I was sooooo glad he got traded... guys like him are a dime a dozen. |

Edler can stay for Fosco. But if Elder legally changes his name this year to Edler Franking Sucks then he can go as well. |

beat me to it... and totally agree with that last comment, i have already said it a few times!! - SMP8719
Now that would be hitting the reset button!
Ideally this is how it all falls into place:
1) We decided to keep Torts for next season.
2) The Pens get knocked out in the first round and decide to trade us Sutter, Pouliot, and a this years first round draft pick for Kesler.
3) Edler doesn't want to deal with Torts again and agrees to waive; we trade him along with Hansen, and Ericcson to WPG for E.Kane (even though I am totally opposed to the idea)
4) We start off the 2014-2015 with the worst start in franchise history. By the time the TDL comes around Higgins and Garrison request trades, which we flipped to the NYI for Reinhart and their 1st round draft pick (because Snow is Milbury 2.0)
5) We finish last overall and the Islanders finish second last overall. We fire Torts at the end of the season. At the draft we take McDavid and Eichel.
6) Upon returning from the draft, Trevor Linden announces the Canucks have hired recently fired Mike Babcock as Head Coach from the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln sitting in English Bay with a Mission Accomplished banner behind him.

That may be true, but guys that you can trust to fill out the 4th line are harder to find...
The reason why he was brought in was because our 4th line was lacking and he wasn't the fix.
Not sure how coach's rationalize 4th line performance?
Must be hard to sit on the bench for 10+ minutes and then are thrown out there and are expected to be flying with cold legs, not make a mistake and contribute....

You may be right, but he does have 4 goals in 18 games as a Hab, along with 41 hits. He only had 65 hits in his 44 games with Vancouver. I could care less if he fights or not, as long as he contributes in other ways.
He is still only 25 years old. Sometimes a player just needs a little confidence to get him going. Therrien is showing a lot of confidence in him, and so far he hasnt dissappointed. so far... |

Therrien clearly understands how to get the most out of him. Neither AV nor Torts had a clue and placed the task into the "too hard" basket. |

Good for Weise. Wasn't working out for him in Vancouver, presumably due to the coaching here. Nice for him to have a legit opportunity with the Habs. Habs owe Vancouver now. |
